Mount Saint Charles Fundraiser at North Attleboro Bertucci’s March 20

Proceeds will aid academy's sister school in Africa.

  Mount Saint Charles Academy invites the public to the Dining for Dollars Fundraiser on Wednesday, March 20 from 4-10 p.m. at the Bertucci's of North Attleboro in the Emerald Square Mall. If a guest dines in, carries out, or gets delivery, Bertucci's will donate 15 percent of what is spent back to Mount for the school’s student run Mission Drive. All guests need to do is present a flyer to the restaurant which can be downloaded onwww.mountsaintcharles.org. Bertucci's of North Attleboro is the ONLY participating location. No other location will honor the flyer. All of the Mission Drive proceeds are given to Mount’s sister school, The Shitima School, located in central Africa in the very poor city of Kabwe, Zambia. Woonsocket's Kevin Williams To Perform During PBS Fundraiser Monday Night

  Woonsocket's Kevin Williams and his band, The Invisible Orphans, will play live on PBS March 4 at 7:30 p.m. on Rhode Island PBS during a night of legendary and local stars orbiting the rock, rhythm & blues galaxy.  The evening, which will support PBS's fundraising effort, opens with Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughn – In Session. In 1983, when legendary blues guitarist Albert King, age 60, was joined by his disciple Stevie Ray Vaughan, age 29, on a Canadian soundstage for the live music TV series “In Session,” magic took place. Woonsocket Edible Arrangements Donating Portion Of March Proceeds To MS Society

Starting Friday, $5 from all Orange Blossom orders donated to charity.

  Begining Friday, Edible Arrangements locations in Rhode Island, including the one in Woonsocket, will kick off its first fundraiser benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Throughout the month of March, the company will donate $5 from any orange blossom arrangement to the society’s Rhode Island chapter to raise funds to help people with MS and to support MS research. The arrangements vary in price, starting at $48. That package gets you a fruit bouquet featuring orange slices and wedges filled with fresh strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe and honeydew. There's a $66 package that inlcudes chocolate covered bananas and strawberries. The company scheduled the fundraiser during March, to coincide with MS awareness month. It was …

CVS Celebrates $1.2 Million From Charity Classic To Area Organizations

Two Woonsocket non-profits among 77 to benefit from annual fundraiser.

  This year's CVS Caremark Charity Classic golf tournament raised $1.2 million for charities across Southern New England. Billy Andrade and Brad Faxon, PGA Tour Professionals/CVS Caremark Charity Classic co-hosts, joined CVS Caremark Dec. 19 at their headquarters in awarding the funds raised to representatives from 77 area nonprofit organizations. Mount St. Charles Student Body To Walk Woonsocket Thursday Morning

Proceeds from fundraiser will fund classroom renovations.

  On Thursday, Oct. 18, the entire student body of Mount Saint Charles Academy is scheduled to walk around Woonsocket in an effort to raise money through the school’s annual Walkathon. All of the donations received will go towards Mount’s ongoing vast classroom renovation initiative. In addition, 10 percent of the profits will benefit the Brother Michael Scholarship Fund. The students will leave Mount around 8 a.m. and head toward Wolny soccer field. They will be en route for the bike path, and will then continue towards the Manville Dam parking lot where they will turn around to make their journey back to Mount. Fundraiser For Woonsocket Girl Fighting Kidney Disease July 29

Five-year-old's family organizing event to help pay medical bills.

There's a fundraiser coming up July 29, 1 p.m., at the Elks Club on Social Street for Autumn Trudeau, 5, who's waiting for a kidney transplant — and her family would love for you to swing by. Tickets are $20 and will get you a DJ, dancing, raffles, beer and dynamites. You'll also be helping a little girl and her family weather a life-threatening medical challenge. Autumn has Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a rare disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering system, causing scarring and kidney failure, said Dr. Michael Somers, a pediatric nephrologist with Boston Children's Hospital. Everybody's kidneys have about a million filtering units each, Somers said. For people with FSGS, for reasons that aren't clear, the filtering units …

  Good morning Woonsocket, and welcome to today's five things to know: 1) In like a lion - There's a winter storm watch in effect until 6 p.m. March 1. There will be a mix of rain and snow before 3 p.m., turning to snow later on. Less than an inch is forecast, but roads are expected to be slick overnight. 2) Dine for school - Every customer who presents a fundraising flier at Chelo's today will have a percentage of their food and beverage sales donated to the school's playground fund.
