On May 19 at about 1:27 a.m., Woonsocket Police Officer Jason Berthelette was called to Piedmont Street to assist with a motor vehicle accident involving a a gray 2010 Toyota running into a utility pole. When Berthelette arrived, he spoke with the driver of the car, Brittany J. Bongo, 23, of Mansfield, MA. The woman said she was backing out of a parking spot when she struck the pole. She said she was in the city with a friend at a bar. She said the accident was caused because she is "not good at reversing" according to Berthelette's report. On Monday, May 20, at about 4:55 p.m., Woonsocket Police Officer Jason Berthelette responded to 16 Federal St. for a report of a car crash. Berthelette arrived and saw the gray 2006 Volvo driven by Glenn Teper, 55, of 62 Francis St., Woonsocket, in the middle of the road. Teper said he'd been driving on Federal Street when the car in front of him stopped and attempted to back into a parking spot, striking his car, according to the report. Berthelette noted in his report that during the conversation, Teper displayed bloodshot eyes, flushed face and a strong odor of alcohol. On May 4 at about 1:44 p.m., Woonsocket Police Lt. Det. Christopher Brooks spotted a woman driving a white Ford Expedition on Worral Street toward Social Street without a seat belt. Brooks pulled behind the vehicle at the intersection of Worral Street and Social Street, according to his report, and observed it run the red light there from a full stop, driving straight through the intersection from the left-turn-only lane into the nearby Blackstone River Credit Union parking lot. Brooks pulled over the driver, later identified as Chrstie Robinson, 34, of 27 Knight St., Apt. 3F. Robinson told Brooks she was going to the Credit Union to get her children lunch. Woonsocket Police Officer James Dybala was patrolling Park Avenue On April 25, at about 4:25 a.m., listening to North Smithfield Police radio when he heard a call for an erratic driver in a black SUV turning down the avenue toward him. Dybala located the vehicle and followed it, observing as it traveled toward downtown Woonsocket, crossing the center line three times, according to his report. Dybala pulled the SUV over, but the driver stopped the vehicle in the center of the lane instead of to the side. As Dybala got out of his cruiser to approach the SUV, it pulled over to the side a little more, but remained in the lane, blocking traffic. Woonsocket man charged with DUI.
Woonsocket Police Officer Jesse Nunnemacher was monitoring Market Square April 14 at 2:41 a.m. when he noticed a large electrical flash on River Street and investigated, discovering a minivan had crashed into a hydrant and utility pole. A six-foot tall, 260 lb man, later identified as David Ellis, 34, of 28 Canal St., Apt. 2, Blackstone, MA got out, and Nunnemacher detained him for Officer Jason Berthelette to question, according to his report. Berthelette spoke to Ellis, detecting a strong odor of alcohol, according to his report. He asked Ellis if he'd had anything to drink that night, to which he replied that he'd had a beer with dinner, Berthelette reported. Concerned callers led Woonsocket Police Officer Gabriel Koneczny to an erratic driver March 30, resulting in one Woonsocket man's arrest for DUI. At about 10:10 p.m., Koneczny responded to reports to the department that a green Toyota Highlander was "all over the road" in the area of South Main Street. One caller reported seeing the driver on Cumberland Street turning onto Cass Avenue traveling on the wrong side of the street. Koneczny found the vehicle on Wood Avenue, traveling in the middle of the road, and used his cruiser's lights to pull the driver over. The Toyota pulled to the shoulder of the road but continued another 200 feet before finally coming to a stop, according to his report. Koneczny and another officer approached the …

Woonsocket Police Officer Jason Berhtelette was on Cumberland Hill Road March 18 at about 1:08 a.m. when the gold 2002 Pontiac sedan driven by Tori Fenoff, 19, of 153 Progresso Ave. with its headlights off caught his attention. Berhtelette observed the Pontiac as it approached the Ho Kong restaurant toward the inner city sans headlights, pulling it over on Florence Drive, Berhtelette reported. As he approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, Fenoff, Berhtelette said he could detect a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car. On St. Patricks' Day at about 10:30 p.m., Maxim Pariset, of 47 Elizabeth Ave., North Smithfield crashed his car on the front lawn of 636 South Main St., told police he didn't want an ambulance ride, and got a cruiser ride instead. When Officer Joseph Brazil arrived on the scene for the call, he found Maxim's heavily damaged car resting on the front lawn of the South Main Street home. Standing by the drivers side door of the car was an off-duty detective who had heard the crash and responded, finding Pariset in the drivers seat with the engine still running, according to Brazil's report. An aknowledgement of the recklessness of drinking and driving proved a bit too belated for one driver's own good March 5. The epiphany, which the driver, Francis Griffin, 30, shared with Woonsocket Police Lt. Edward Cunanan while in the process of failing a walk and turn sobriety test, might have served him better before he began driving home that evening. Cunanan spotted the blue 2000 Ford SUV driven by Griffin at 1:30 a.m. while traveling on Hamlet Avenue near Park Avenue. Woonsocket Police Sgt. Kenneth Marcotte was observing traffic at Market Square Feb. 14 at about 1 a.m. when he observed a grey Nissan speeding out of Ye Olde English Fish and Chips parking lot onto River Street. Marcotte followed, clocking the car at 40 mph in a 25 mph zone as it turned left on Providence Street, continuing at speeds in excess of 35 mph. The car swerved into traffic at the intersection of Providence Street and Coe Street, at which time Marcotte decided to pull the car over.
