Jose Hernandez, 30, of Central Falls, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Providence on Thursday to 10 years in federal prison for trafficking crack cocaine, announced United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha, Kevin L. Lane, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New England field division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas S. Carey. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Mary M. Lisi also ordered Hernandez to serve five years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term. Hernandez pleaded guilty on March 22, 2012, as charged in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury on July 20, 2011, to one count of possession with the intent to distribute more than 28 grams of cocaine base. …

Officers seize cocaine, pot, pills and cash after a months-long investigation.
Police raided a Rathbun Street apartment Friday morning, seizing cocaine, marijuana and prescription pills, and arresting three local men on drug charges. Police allege Maurice Godin, 27, ran a drug peddling operation at 254/256 Rathbun Street, according to a Police Department press release. He faces charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of hydrocodone, a synthetic opiate. Police seized 27 grams of cocaine, two pounds of marijuana, 60 assorted prescription pills, items associated with drug sales, and about $7,000 in cash.
