Woonsocket Officer Bitten by Pitbull While Arresting Woman for Domestic Assault

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  An officer responding to a domestic disturbance between a couple on Burnside Avenue was bitten by one of the occupant's dogs May 7 while a woman resisted arrest. At about 6:18 a.m., Woonsocket Police Officers Christopher Bouvier and Patrick Greeno were called to a Burnside Avenue apartment building after a man who sounded very upset called the department, according to Officer Michael Theroux's report.  The officers arrvived to find a man who said he had had an argument with Katie Acevedo, 45, his wife, who had locked him out of the apartment. Woonsocket Police Arrest Man for Pushing Mother, Sister During Argument

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police Officer Andrew Girard responded to the area of Rockridge Drive for a report of a disturbance at about 8:47 p.m., but was unable to locate anyone who could provide further details. While searching the neighborhood, Girard found a 22-year-old with grass stains on his jeans who looked like he'd been in some type of struggle. When Girard asked him his name, the young man said "Don't worry about it." Woonsocket Police Officer Gregory Klocek inquired further, discovering the man's name was Ariel Hernandez, 22. When asked if he knew anything about the disturbance, Hernandez replied again, "Don't worry about it." The man had no warrants for his arrest and was allowed to go on his way. Police Log: Man Attempts To Stab Ex-Wife During Plea To Rekindle Relationship

The following information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police report Joshua Paradis, with a last known address of Manville Road, called on his ex-wife early Dec. 28 to discuss getting back together, but attempted to stab her instead when she refused to let him take their daughter from her home. The couple's 9-year-old daughter ran downstairs to get the help of the landlord as her parents struggled, according to a police report. The landlord ran up to the mother's apartment, where Paradis had put the woman in a leg hold around her neck. He told Paradis to leave, telling him what he was doing wasn't worth it. Paradis responded by threatening to beat up the landlord, but the attacker relented and ran down the stairs. The mother told police that at about 4 a.m., Paradis had knocked on…

Police Log: Roommate Assaults Fellow Renter Over Noise

  John Albert Trites, 48, of 34 Burnside Ave., apt. 3R, was arrested Nov. 26 at about 6:37 p.m. for getting  physical over a disagreement about noise his roommates were making, throwing a man against a wall and denting it with his head.   On Nov. 25 at about 4:15 p.m., Babacar Seck visited the Woonsocket Police Department on Clinton Street to report that Trites, his roommate, had entered the room he shares with his wife while they were listening to music and drinking, and told them to be quiet the previous evening. Seck refused, he said, and Trites responded by grabbing him with both hands around the throat and pushing the back of his head into a plaster wall. Police Log: Man Arrested After Attacking Girlfriend's Father With Knife

Woonsocket Police arrested Michael Smith, 21, of  816 Bernon St., apt. 2, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. after he tried attacking his girlfriend's father with a knife during an argument. At about 1:29 p.m., Woonsocket police officers responded for a domestic disturbance to 816 Bernon St., apt. 2, where Smith and his girfriend, Rondelle Hadrick, 21 and her father Joseph Hadrick, 60, share an apartment. When police arrived, a witness pointed them down the street, where Smith and Rondelle were walking. Police caught up to the couple and asked what had happened. Rondelle said the couple had been staying in her father's apartment for several months. She said she and Smith began to argue, and her father attempted to break it up, causing Smith to argue with …

These two poor kids having to live under these conditions because neither can get a job. Police Log: Woman Arrested For Striking Ex-Boyfriend With Pan

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Dawn Riendeau, 32, of 456 Grove St., apt. 2nd, upset that her ex-boyfriend might have been unfaithful before they parted, has more immediate worries after she struck him with a pan Oct. 2.  Woonsocket Police caught up with her at her home at 9:34 p.m. Oct. 10., arresting her and charging her with domestic felony assault, domestic breaking and entering and domestic disorderly conduct. On Oct. 2, police responded to o 337 Third Ave., apt. 1, at 10:18 p.m. for a report of a domestic assault with a cooking pan. When they arrived, they met with Lance Blicker, 33, who told them that his ex, Riendeau, had shown up at his apartment, pushed her way in and started arguing with him. Riendeau accused him of being unfaithful while they were together…

Police Log: Trio Of Women Rescue Friend From Domestic Assault

  Friends will tell you they have your back, but one woman on Cumberland Street knows it's the truth with three of her friends.  On Oct. 2, at about 7:30 p.m., Woonsocket Police patrolman Thomas Duncan responded to an apartment house on Cumberland Street for a report of a domestic assault.  Once there, he spoke with Tamonda Barr, who said she picked up her cousin at the market and dropped her off at home in the building earlier that day. Moments later, she said, she received a call from her cousin's boyfriend, Jamil Skinner 22, of 200 Gordon Ave., Apt. 24 , who was upset about the trip to the market and yelling.
