Woonsocket Police Arrest Sears Employee, Boyfriend For Stealing From Auto Department

More than $5,000 was taken from store by the duo between March 18 and April 1.

  A Wooonsocket Sears employee and her boyfriend face felony larceny and conspiracy charges respectively for stealing more than $5,000 in batteries, tires and equipment from the store's auto department between March 23 and April 1. On April 1 at 10:50 p.m., Woonsocket Police were called to the store at 1500 Diamond Hill Road by the company's loss prevention officer for a shoplifting investigation. While en route, dispatch advised officers the suspected theif was still in a green Saturn parked outside the building, according to officer David Bibeault's report. Bibeault arrived on the scene and spoke with the car's occupant, Jonathan O'Connell, 21, of 17 Elbow Rock Road, Burrillville. He noted that O'Connel's car had two tires in the back …

Police Log: Woman Arrested After Trying To Sell Stolen Pistol, Watches

Man called police to Social Street after refusing to purchase stolen items.

  Michelle Sondra Cole, 28, of 323 Main St., apt. 208, who was carrying a stolen .22 caliber Ruger Pistol, Burret and Invicta watches, was arrested Nov. 9 on Social Street near World War II Park after trying to sell the items. Cole, who was accompanied by Rene Cruz, 51 and a 15-year-old boy, attempted to sell the watches and pistol, which she was carrying in a backpack, to Eric Bielat, according to the police report. Bielat told officers Cole approached him in World War II Park, offered to sell him the watches and gun, and he refused, then called police when the trio left at about 1:55 p.m. He said Cole had offered to sell the gun for $50. Several officers responded to the call, including two detectives, who detained and searched the trio…

Police Log: High Speed Chase Ends With Arrest For Conspiracy

Passenger nabbed, police still searching for driver.

  A twisting car chase from Logee Street to Prospect Street speeding up to 80 mph resulted in the passenger's arrest on conspiracy charges Tuesday. Woonsocket Police are still searching for the driver. At about 12:26 early Tuesday morning, Patrol Officer Daniel Lajoie observed a silver Chrysler sedan traveling north on Knight Street run a stop sign at Logee Street. Lajoie followed in his cruiser as the car turned west on Grove Street from there, again ignoring the stop sign. At this point, the driver of the sedan rapidly accelerated, and LaJoie put on his lights and sirens, following the car as it sped at 60 mph through a 25 mph zone. The chase continued through the Bernon Street intersection, where the sedan driver again ignored the stop …
