Cash Mob - The Cash Mobbers will converge on another two luck Woonsocket businesses tonight - set aside a $20 and head up to 186 Cass Ave., across from Landmark Medical Center at 6 p.m. The Cash Mob idea is to get a large group of people together who agree to spend at least $20 at each venue. The larger the crowd, the larger the impact on the local economy. The Northern RI Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance are bringing the cash mob back to Woonsocket tonight. The Cash Mob idea is to get a large group of people together who agree to spend at least $20 at each venue. The larger the crowd, the larger the impact on the local economy. Back in April, the organizations put together a cash mob and turned its wallets and pocketbooks on Kay's Restaurant and Vose True Value. More than 100 people showed up to focus spending on two local businesses Tuesday night.
Woonsocket's Tuesday night cash mob drew more than 100 customers to Vose True Value and Kay's Restaurant, surpising and thrilling shop owners and organizers. The mob was organized by the Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance and the Northern RI Chamber of Commerce. Jeanne Budnick of Pepin Lumber, a member of the BVIBA, led the effort. Elise Houle of Pepin Lumber said the group, more than twice the number of people they'd been expecting at about 120, gathered at 186 Cass Avenue, the lot across from Landmark Medical Center at 6 p.m. At 6:15 p.m., Jeanne annoucned they'd be visiting Vose and Kay's, both of which were conveniently nearby.
