CVS Caremark Charitable Trust Gives $50K to Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund

  CVS/pharmacy has announced its annual in-store fundraiser for the ninth year to support the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving campaign, a unique holiday program that raises awareness and funds for the pioneering research and exceptional care provided at St. Jude. Contractor Janitors Union Poised To Strike For More Hours, Higher Wages

Possible strike could affect 25 Woonsocket workers, 19 at CVS Customer Support Center.

  SEIU Local 615, the union representing 18,000 janitors, security officers, and maintenance workers in MA, NH and RI, including 19 people working at CVS Corproate Headquarters in Woonsocket, has voted to authorize their bargaining committee to call a strike.  There are another six people working throughout Woonsocket represented by the union, according to SEIU Local 615 spokeswoman Rachel Miller. The union represents 600 janitors in Rhode Island total. CVS Caremark spokesman Mike DeAngelis said the people working at CVS are not directly employed by the company. "CVS Caremark engages an outside service to perform some of the janitorial work in our Customer Support Center in Woonsocket.  We have no comment on the status of any labor …

CVS, RI Free Clinic Partnership Provides Free Prescriptions For Uninsured

Clinic patients now able to fill prescriptions at three local CVS/pharmacy locations at no cost.

  CVS Caremark and the Rhode Island Free Clinic have announced a partnership to help the uninsured, working poor in Rhode Island get access to the vital medications they need. CVS Celebrates Fundraising Feat at Fenway

In-store campaign raised more than $5 million for Cystic Fibrosis, ALS research.

  To mark the success of the 2012 CVS/pharmacy Advancing Medical Research campaign, nine-year-old Lucas Fox of Indianapolis, Ind., who has cystic fibrosis, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park just prior to the Boston Red Sox versus Toronto Blue Jays game Friday night. The Woonsocket-based company's fund-raising campaign raised more than $5 million in five weeks at local CVS locations throughout the nation. Clerks asked customers if they would donate to research for ALS and Cystic Fybrosis, and many said yes. Woonsocket Veteran Takes on The Green Monster at Fenway Park

CVS Caremark and the Boston Red Sox support individuals with disabilities at outing at Fenway Park.

Disabled veterans from across Rhode Island and Massachusetts gathered in Boston last week with friends and family to experience Fenway Park in an up-close and personal way – the result of a partnership between CVS Caremark and the Boston Red Sox to support individuals with disabilities.   The disabled war veterans from across were treated to an incredible experience. Woonsocket-based CVS Caremark and the Boston Red Sox teamed up to create a special batting camp for the veterans. One of the 12 veterans who particpated in the event was Air Force veteran Mike Guilbault of Woonsocket.
