BankRI Kicks-Off Month Long Book Drive in Partnership with Books Are Wings

Local Non-Profit Puts Free Books in the Hands of Rhode Island Children to Improve Literacy.

  Throughout the month of March, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) will host a book drive in partnership with Books Are Wings. Members of the community are encouraged to stop by any one of BankRI’s 18 branch locations, including 1175 Cumberland Hill Road in Woonsocket, to donate new and gently used books. The bank is hoping to exceed last year’scollection, which generated over 1,400 books. Books Are Wings is a local non-profit organization committed to literacy by putting free books in the hands of children in some of Rhode Island’s most-needed communities – diligently working towards a day when all children have access to books in their homes. BankRI Names Kathy Galipeau Its New Mortgage Specialist

Woonsocket resident's hire a reaction to improving housing market.

  As the state’s housing market continues to show encouraging signs of improvement, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has hired Kathy Galipeau of Woonsocket to serve as a new sortgage specialist. In this role, Kathy will work with the growing number of customers turning to BankRI for home loans by assessing their financial needs to identify the best mortgage product available. She will focus on Providence’s East Side, along with the communities of East Providence, Pawtucket and Woonsocket. BankRI Contributes 15,000 lbs Of Food To RI Community Food Bank

Woonsocket branch helped collect food donated during Hunger Action Month.

  BankRI recently contributed 15,000 pounds of food to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s Summer Food Drive. As a company-wide effort, their Woonsocket branch played a critical role in the collection. The donation continues the bank's commitment to support the RI Community Food Bank, which is observing Hunger Action Month during September.
