Woonsocket has received nearly $300,000 in a grant from the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grants program.
Woonsocket will enhance training efforts for firefighters and paramedics, thanks to a a nearly-$300,000 federal grant. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued the grant through the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grants program, the Rhode Island federal delegation announced Monday. The town of North Kingstown received 876,000 through the same program. “At a time when state and local governments are facing significant budget difficulties, these federal grants enhance public safety by ensuring our firefighters and first responders are properly equipped and trained,” said Sen.
