Duo Stopped Carrying Rubber Band Rifle, One Charged For Assaulting Officer

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Officer Timothy Greene responded to the area of 85 Fairmount St. April 23 at 9:43 p.m. for a report of two men, one of them with what seeme to be a rifle, walking on the street. Greene found the men, saw that one was carrying what appeared to be a black shotgun with extra shells along the barrel, stopped his cruiser, got out and ordered the men to drop any weapons. The man furthest away from Greene, later identified as Nicholas Drainville, 18, dropped the rifle-shaped object and an orange crowbar. The man closest to him, later identified as Hilari Gonzalez, 37, of 107 Bourdon Boulevard, Woonsocket, dropped a hammer. Woonsocket Police Arrest Driver After Road Rage Assault at Stadium Theatre Crosswalk

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  A driver enraged at a fellow motorist stopping for pedestrians in a crosswalk hit him in the head with a pipe, turning a brief interruption in his travels to a more lengthy detour to jail. Officer Gabrien Koneczny was called to the crosswalk in front of Stadium Theatre April 13 at about 6:55 p.m. for a report of an assault in progress. When he arrived, he saw two vehicles stopped in the middle of the road, one in front of the other, with one driver standing nearby, and the other seated in his car, according to his report. The man standing, Robert Bartlett, 60, of Millville, MA, was holding his hand to his head, nursing a small laceration. Police Log: Woman Tells Officer Responding For Assault Call, 'Ya, I Swung On Her'

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Officers responding to an assault call were saved a little police work Feb. 23 when Shanira Vliafane, 18, exited apartment 1 at 337 Third Ave. while they were interviewing the victim and said, "Ya, I swung on her, I started it." Vilafane followed this revelation by turning and placing her hands behind her for police to handcuff, according to Officer Michael Flood's report. Flood obliged and Vilafane was transported to Woonsocket Police Headquarters on Clinton Street.  When police first arrived at the address, they met Crystal Leclair outside, who told them Vilafane had gotten into an argument with her brother, also Vilafane's boyfriend, the previous night and was transported to Landmark Medical Center for an evaluation for suicidal …

Police Log: Man Arrested For Robbing Would-Be Pot Sellers

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police arrested Hector Villegas-Alvarez, 32, of 213 South Main St., Apt. 1f, in the area of 248 River St. Jan. 14, charging him in the robbery of one man who thought he and his friends were showing up to sell marijuana. At about 8:35 p.m., according to Officer Gregory Klocek's report, he and two other officers responded to River Street for a report of an assault and robbery, with four men fleeing the area. When Klocek arrived, he saw a 16-year-old boy sitting on the ground with his T-shirt held to his head, which was bleeding. He said he'd been struck with an object, but didn't know what. Police Log: Tenant Assaults Landlord After He Inquires About Overdue Rent

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police arrested Thomasina Fannings, 33, of 180 Avenue C, apt. 1, Nov. 30 for responding to her landlord's request for back rent by spitting on him and striking him in the face with her shoe.  On Nov. 30 at about 5:30 p.m., Michael Mongeon, the landlord at 180 Avenue C, knocked on Fannings' door and asked for the back rent, about $1,500, with a rent payment of $700 due the next day. Thomasina began yelling at him, Mongeon said, replying that she would not give him the money, which, she said, wasn't due till the next day. Mongeon said he tried to explain he was asking for past due rent, and that he would like at least part of the overdue amount, but Thomasina continued her verbal abuse, at one point telling him she would beat …

Police Log: Young Woman Arrested For Assaulting Girl Walking Home From School

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  On Nov. 26, Woonsocket Police arrested Ariana Isabelle, 18, of 327 River St., apt. 2FL, at 10:35 a.m., after a girl reported she had been attacked, stalked and attacked again walking home from school Nov. 5. Witnesses backed up the story, according to a police report, including providing a cell phone video recording of one of the attacks. On Nov. 5, Woonsocket Police Officer Scott Breuguet responded to a Second Ave. home to speak with a girl and her mother who said the girl had been attacked by Isabelle while walking home from school that day. The girl said she and her friends were walking home from school when Isabelle approached her from behind, pulled her down by her backpack and attempted to hit her. Several friends broke the two …

Police Log: Woman Starts Bar Fight Armed With Knife, Baton, Pepper Spray

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  On Oct. 15 at about 12:14 a.m., after several hours of drinking at Boilermaker's on Allen Street, Sara Fernandes, 29, of 2284 State Park Road, Greenville, SC, became loud and disruptive, and was promptly shut off by the staff.  The cesation of alcoholic beverages did not sit well with Fernandes, who then became violently agitated, according to the police report. The escalation of her unlady-like behavior prompted the employees of Boilermakers to ask her to leave.  Being kicked out of the bar was also not to Fernandes's liking, and she responded by throwing a few punches around, causing a fight.  Kimberly Mitchell, 40, said Fernandes grabbed her hair and pulled out a chunk (Responding officer Justin Mowry noted a patch her hair was …

Police Log: Man, Arrested For Stealing Woman's Laptop, Visits To Punch Her

City man suffers two arrests in as many days after striking woman who reported him.

  Jacob Perry, 22, of 84 Kendrick Ave., apt. 2, fresh off his arrest for stealing Devin Fontaine's laptop, visited her at Brews and Cues to punch her in the face Oct. 2 at 8:41 p.m., earning himself a second visit to the Woonsocket Police Department. Woonsocket Police officer Daniel Lajoie responded to the bar at 42 Rathbun Street for a report of an assault, meeting up with Fontaine, who told him she had seen Perry outside the bar earlier that evening, according to his report. Fontaine said Perry, who was there with a friend she had never seen before, beckoned to her through the window to step outside. When she did, she said, Perry punched her in the face. Police Log: Two Arrested For Assaulting Man From Behind

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police arrested Ryan James Gaumond, 18, of 406 Old River Road, apt. 2, Manville, RI and Robert M. Belanger, 18 of 195 Boyden St., Woonsocket, at Belanger's house Sept. 23, 2:28 p.m., charging each with felony assault for sneaking up behind Aaron Gay and striking him in the head Sept. 22. Police were alerted to the assault by Gay's mother, who called to tell them his friends had driven him to his dormitory at Rhode Island College after he was assaulted at a party the previous night in Woonsocket, suffering serious injury to his head.  Mrs. Gay reported that her son's roommate, a paramedic, contacted 911 after observing his condition.
