State Trooper Log: Wanted Armed Robber Caught At Traffic Stop

Officer Spots, Arrests Man With Hit and Run Warrant Outside City Side

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  Woonsocket Police Officer Matthew Durnham was patrolling in the area of Market Square when he spotted Corey Lucchesi, 25, leaving the City Side Restaurant at 74 South Main St. at about 4:35 a.m. March 22. Durnham watched as Lucchesi crossed the street to the Market Square parking lot. The officer reported he knew Woonsocket Police had an arrest warrant out for Lucchesi for an Oct. 19 hit and run crash at 328 Cass Ave. and driving with a suspended license. Durnham confirmed the warrant with dispatch and then arrested Lucchesi with the assistance of two other officers. Durnham transported Lucchesi to Woonsocket Police Headquarters, where he was processed and  placed in a cell without incident.

Woonsocket Police Arrest Two Men For Pot Possession, Seize 14 Pitbulls

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  At 6:30 a.m. Friday, Woonsocket Police served a search warrant at 95 Rathbun St., 2nd left, arresting residents Miguel Medina, 22 and Juan Olivio, 35. Inside the apartment, police found Medina with 3.5 grams of marijuana and oxycodone pills, for which he did not have a prescription. Medina was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule I-V drug, the oxycodone. Olivio, whom police caught with .2 grams of marijuana, was charged with possession of marijuana, 1st offense. Police also found 14 pitbulls in the apartment, including seven puppies. Two of the dogs were properly licensed.  The mother and puppies are being held by Lincoln Animal Control, and the RISPCA took control of four adult dogs. Woonsocket Animal …

Driver Arrested For Operating Under Influence of Unknown Substance

  Woonsocket Police Officer Jason Berhtelette was on Cumberland Hill Road March 18 at about 1:08 a.m. when the gold 2002 Pontiac sedan driven by Tori Fenoff, 19, of 153 Progresso Ave. with its headlights off caught his attention. Berhtelette observed the Pontiac as it approached the Ho Kong restaurant toward the inner city sans headlights, pulling it over on Florence Drive, Berhtelette reported. As he approached the vehicle to speak with the driver, Fenoff, Berhtelette said he could detect a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car. She said she was on her way home from a friend's house, making a stop to drop off her passenger, according to Berhtelette's report. Woonsocket Police Arrest Man for DUI After St. Patrick's Day Crash

  On St. Patricks' Day at about 10:30 p.m., Maxim Pariset, of 47 Elizabeth Ave., North Smithfield crashed his car on the front lawn of 636 South Main St., told police he didn't want an ambulance ride, and got a cruiser ride instead. When Officer Joseph Brazil arrived on the scene for the call, he found Maxim's heavily damaged car resting on the front lawn of the South Main Street home. Standing by the drivers side door of the car was an off-duty detective who had heard the crash and responded, finding Pariset in the drivers seat with the engine still running, according to Brazil's report. Brazil spoke with Pariset, who said he was returning from a party at a friend's house, where he had had three beers. Brazil reported smelling a strong …

Police Arrest Man On Warrant For Receiving Goods from Blackstone Burglary

Thomas Pleau arrested attempting to flee through locked apartment door.

  Woonsocket Police Detective Thomas Gormley, armed with a warrant for Thomas Pleau's (38, of 2187 Diamond Hill Road) arrest in connection with a Blackstone, MA burglary, found him at 2381 Walnut Hill Road March 15 at 3:30 p.m. The detective had found the address through the registration for a car belonging to Melanie Champagne, 33, spotted during the theft. When he was done speaking with the building manager, Gormley spotted Pleau about 100 feet away, lighting a cigarette, according to Gormley's report. Gormley called to Pleau, ordering him to stop and informing him he had a warrant for his arrest. Pleau responded by running toward the door of one of the apartments, where Champagne joined him, both fumbling for the keys to the door. The …

Police Arrest Man For Forged Oxycodone Prescription at CVS

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  At 9:45 p.m. March 15, Woonsocket Police were called to CVS at 1054 Cass Ave. by a pharmacist who told them she had received a forged prescription for Oxycodone.  Pharmacy Manager Ashley Reynolds told police that Brendan Caron, (whom police later determined was 24 years old and living at 198 Dawn Boulevard), had presented a forged prescription for Oxycodone, according to Officer Michael R. Velino's report.   Reynolds showed Velino the usual prescription form from the doctor in question, noting it was a narrow piece of paper, whereas Caron's prescription was on an 8X10 piece of paper. Also, the signatures on each prescription didn't match. Officer Andrew Broccoli located Caron in the parking lot and detained him while Velino spoke with …

Woman Arrested For Prostitution After Propositions

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Two Woonsocket Police detectives arrested a woman for prostitution on March 7 at about 10:13 p.m. after she flagged them down on Arnold Street, offered them oral sex in exhange for money, then to have sex for with them for an extra charge.  The detectives were patrolling the area in an unmarked vehicle when a woman, later identified as Raelonda Johnson, 30, of 379 East School St., Apt. 3RDL, flagged them down, according to a police report. They stopped, and she got into the vehicle, asking what they were looking for. The detectives asked what she was offering. According to the report, Johnson offered them oral sex for money. The three agreed on a price, and the detectives began driving toward Woonsocket Police headquarters. On the way, …

Man In BMW Tells Police 'I'm Out Of Here," Flees Traffic Stop, Busted For Pot

Woonsocket Police report a city man tossed a few bags of marijuana out of his car shortly after telling them, 'I'm outa here,' and fleeing a traffic stop at high speed at about 1:15 a.m. March 11. The incident earned Muhammad Sheikh, 28, of 412 Rathbun St. Apt. 1L a felony charge for marijuana posession, among other charges, for the 22 grams of marijuana, less than an ounce (28.3 grams). The charge came about 22 days before state law is set to decriminalize possession of less than an ounce of the substance. Sheikh was stopped by Officer Christopher Bouvier after he drove his white 2011 BMW past the officer on patrol in the area of Highland Street multiple times that night. Police Log: Driver Arrested For DUI Admits 'Mistake'

An aknowledgement of the recklessness of drinking and driving proved a bit too belated for one driver's own good March 5. The epiphany, which the driver, Francis Griffin, 30, shared with Woonsocket Police Lt. Edward Cunanan while in the process of failing a walk and turn sobriety test, might have served him better before he began driving home that evening. Cunanan spotted the blue 2000 Ford SUV driven by Griffin at 1:30 a.m. while traveling on Hamlet Avenue near Park Avenue. The SUV passed Cunanan's cruiser traveling in the opposite direction, swerving and nearly striking the curb as it passed, according to Cunanan's report.
