It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

Amazing, 4 years to the date when NK had the last flooding episode. Now that the dam at Feather BedRead More Lane is being fixed after 4 years, the powers to be should seriously consider a partial breach of that dam and the dam at Route 1A because of the amount of water coming out of Bellville Pond. It would seriously help all of the people along that water shed to know that the river is draining and the street drains are working.

No war please.

Yes, it is horrific!!! I watched USSR - fall apart on TV from Pawtucket, RI as a child with minimumRead More knowledge of English. I was born in a republic, now a country, where people are not as brave and bold as Ukrainians!!! Lukashenko rules that corner - already close to 20 years! I say it is time for a change, but if it takes so many lives lost, and, war like atmosphere - I rather let it be and be semi peaceful, very sensored, but at least clean and sort of sufficient. I think, b/c this crisis started during Olympics - those safety scares or terrorist acts never took place. In a way - this distracted attention and was horrific enough. To me - photos shared on FB of Maidan Sq - are realistic war like shots!!! I know enough local families - some from Odessa - who moved to RI, MA, NY in late 80's and early 90's. It is very unnerving to realize that there are relatives and close friends of these people who are stuck in modern day civil war zone!!! I have to say - having this guys summer house exposed - dropped thousands or millions of jaws & we don't know what Lukashenko and Putin have that they don't want us to see. I feel like this is reason Putin is trying yo show power and fearlessness now - as he realizes - what happened to this guy - could - eventually happen to him!!! To think this guy was just some director of a bunch of farms and now in power is little scary - but there are many that say he has done well by them... So, who knows?! My prayers are with people of Ukraine & those who still have friends and family there! Our - President - might be helpless on several levels with Putin. Unfortunately - in several situations - I see he acts as if a puppet... He tells each side what they want to hear in same day and is not stern enough when rules/agreements are broken. This is just my observation & opinion! Thank G-d for my adopted homeland!!! At least here - 8 years is maximum one is in office!!! Though - don't think only in Ukraine - politicians benefit from their posts, put stuff in their 'pockets', gain connections and try to keep things hush-hush!!! Just in some countries or circumstances it is revealed, put to light, exposed -- more so & earlier than others!!!

No boots on the ground, planes in the air or war ships in the sea. We have enough problems in thisRead More country that we don't need to take on anyone else's. Put the war machine away and concentrate on this country for once.

Sad to report a false alarm it was not my max
Michael Dubois March 4, 2014 at 06:40 pm
Adrienne, I do hope that you find your dog. Sorry that it was a false alarm. Please don't take myRead More previous comment harshly. News outlets tend to not classify there stories properly. Social media is a great tool to get word out to the public. I have both a dog and a cat and I have shared many post on Facebook for local lost dogs. I do not consider The Patch as a form of social media. It is supposed to be a source for local news. The Patch has a mechanism in place (breaking news feature) to get the word out quickly in case of urgent matters, such as: tornado warnings, missing child, dangerous person on the hunt etc.... Breaking news alerts on subscribers cell phones are just for this reason. If we start including missing pet alerts as breaking news, we risk losing the sense of urgency when a potential life threatening emergency were to come up the next time as a breaking news alert sent by The Patch. Once again, good Luck.

There are 'do's and don'ts regarding recycle bins. Read the info provided by the contracted companyRead More providing the bins. Also, if you opt to use a smaller bin for, say, garbage you get a reduced rate for that smaller bin making your overall bill much less each month.

Now about the homeless, I am for helping people that want to be help and are not looking for just aRead More hand out. Mark; A good piece might be something from Global Corporate on its plans for the Patch now and theRead More future. Just saying
Somewhere out there February 24, 2014 at 11:54 pm
I wish you well Mark, but unfortunately I do not expect Patch to be a functioning news outlet byRead More next year. Expecting you to cover the news from almost half of RI is absurd, so even calling it "functional" right now is a stretch. I should clarify that I don't mean that just the RI Patches will cease to be. The whole thing is going under. If sticking you with 15 sites is their idea of a business model, I think the whole house of cards is coming down sooner rather than later.
