I recently purchased a "wine dinner" for 10 from Groupon. The dinner was called in and reservation were made for Saturday night, March 9th @ 7pm. My "party of ten" arrived on time and were immediately advised by the attendant that there would be a delay in seating us. In the meantime, we went upstairs and had a drink. At about 7:45pm we were escorted to our table and seated. It went downhill from there. I have to admit that the restaurant was very busy, but there is no excuse for the length of time we had to wait to start our meal. While waiting, some of my party stopped a waitress and ordered h'oeurves and I ordered two bottles of wine to fill in the long delay in service. Finally, after about a half hour - the first 1/2 glass of wine was servced. It was a wine pairing and the wine should have been served with the food that it was paired with.... but the soup didn't arrive until about twenty minutes later. The same thing happened for each pairing after that. The main course for the evening was - 12oz filet or lobster/scallop caserole - the steak was extremely tough and the seafood was overcooked. The meal finally came to an end at around 11pm. We were all extremely disappointed with this experience and I doubt that any of us will ever return. That is ten people that will go out and tell their friends and associates about that bad experience. So sad - because it really is a nice place.
