Visiting the Museum of Work and Culture is a great way to discover the history of 19th- and 20th-century New England. The museum takes you through the local history of Woonsocket and documnets the French Canadian immigrant experience, with interactive games and voice-overs to help you really understand what life here was once like.  The museum is operated by the Rhode Island Historical Society and can be rented for private events.
