The weather's recent see-sawing act, combined with the River Island Park rink's dependence on cold temperatures, makes the sage advice, Carpe Diem, seem all the wiser. 

Temperatures are expected to rise into the 40s and 50s this weekend after a week of severe cold. The rink is open 1-9 p.m., seven days a week with a concession stand Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
