Trash Delay, Job Opening, Signs for Sale, Special Election

Holiday trash pickup - On Wednesday Jan. 1, the Woonsocket
Material Recycle Facility will be closed. A complete listing of accepted items for FREE can be found on the City of Woonsocket’s web site under Solid Waste.
Curbside pick-up for trash and recycling for Jan. 1, 2nd and 3rd will be delayed by one day.

Old Street Signs Sold to aid Milk Fund - Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt has announced that the City of Woonsocket will be selling the old green and white city street signs to anyone interested for $10 per sign with the proceeds to benefit the Milk Fund. The complete list of street names will be posted on the city’s websitewww.ci.woonsocket.ri.us and will be available for sale in Harris Hall at City Hall weekdays starting from Dec 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Special Election -The special election brewing to fill the Dist. 49 seat vacated by new Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt will pit three candidates against each other in the Jan. 21 primary.

Ghost Army - Now through Jan. 31, the Museum of Work & Culture, in conjunction with the BVTC, present a special Ghost Army Exhibit, at the Museum, located at Market Square in Woonsocket. See special interpretive display telling true story of city's connection to a secret World War II mission. Information at Rhode Island Historical Society website.
