Monday Essentials: Cyber Shopping, Warmer Temps

Cyber Monday. Today is another of those biggest shopping days of the year, only this one is done sitting down. Shoppers are expected to spend more than $2 billion online today, which would make it the biggest online shopping day ever.

Council meeting. The Woonsocket City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. in Harris Hall, third floor in City Hall, 169 Main St. Check out the rather light agenda here

Centennial celebration.
Revel in the season Friday after 2 p.m. at The Villa at Saint Antoine Courtyard, 400 Mendon Road, North Smithfield as you stroll through the decked-out halls of the Villa at Saint Antoine. More than 30 beautifully decorated Christmas trees will be on display inside a heated tent. Sip on the Villa’s special hot cocoa, and awe at the magnificent showcase of Christmas trees donated and decorated by community organizations, local businesses, families and friends.

Have you been naughty or nice? Bring the kids and cameras to share Christmas Wish Lists and a photo opportunity with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 1  to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the historic Smith-Appleby House Museum, 20 Stillwater Road, Smithfield.

Warming trend. Winter may not have us fully in its grip yet. Temperatures should steadily increase throughout the week, topping out in the low 50s Thursday and Friday. We're looking at clear skies for most of the week, though there is the possibility of showers later in the week.
