Volunteers Tidy Up Blackstone River During Cleanup

April 17 event drew team of boaters to collect refuse.

The Blackstone River Watershed Council scoured the banks of the Blackstone April 17, pulling at least one pickup truck's worth of junk from the river.

About 700 pounds of metal debris, 70 tires, seven bicycles and 30 bags of trash were removed, according to EcoNewsRI.
