VIDEO: 23rd Annual ShelterWalk

Hundreds of community residents walk to raise funds for the Woonsocket Homeless Shelter.

Around 450 walkers met at for the ShelterWalk Saturday morning to raise money and awareness for the Woonsocket Homeless Shelter, the largest group in the event's 23 year history.

Mayor Leo Fontaine and U.S. Congressman David Cicilline kicked off the walk with speeches for the 25 plus participating in teams.

Walkers were treated to a sunny, mild weather for the roughly three-mile hike, which wound around the park, down Front Street, to Orchard Street, South Main and Sayles Street, eventually returning to the park by River Street. The morning was completed with refreshments and raffles to local establishments, with winners called out by DJ Victor Ramos.
