An estimated 30,000 people showed up for Woonsocket's 125th Birthday Block Party Thursday, and they did not go hungry.
From meat pies to Dynamites to sausage, chicken and a beef prepared in a variety of techniques and presented with as many smiles, block party food vendors were prepared to feed the crowd.
During Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Matt Moylan, fundraising chairman for the 125th Birthday Block Party Committee, thanked the Woonsocket Rotary Club for donating $1,000 to allow the Taste of Woonsocket food tent to be set up without having to charge the vendors for the space.
