Thursday: Auditions, Commission And Dickens

The weekend is nigh - here are a few things to mind for the next 24 hours:

 

Little Mermaid - Stadium Theatre will host auditions for Disney's Little Mermaid Jr. tonight, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. All roles are open to children between the ages of 6 - 18. The show will take place on Nov. 9 - 11.

Budget Commission - The people currently holding the city's purse strings meet again this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on the third floor conference room at Woonsocket City Hall. On their agenda, a talk on Davison Landfill with Sheila McGauvran and a discussion of the invoice from B&E Consulting with Superintendent Giovanna Donoyan.

Calendar - If you've got an event you want to share with the many readers of the Woonsocket Patch, you can be your own best advocate - post it yourself to the Woonsocket Patch calendar. Fill in the blanks with your event's information, and you're good to go.

Register to vote - Oct. 7 is the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election, and Oct. 16 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. If you're an unaffiliated voter, you can vote as either Republican or Democratic in the Sept. 11 primary - just ask the poll worker to to dis-affiliate you on the way out after to return to independent status. This election season voters will also be required to show a voter ID.

Ranger Walkabout - The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor will host its final summer ranger walkabout in front of Mechanics Hall at 321 Main Street, Worcester at 6:30 to 8 p.m. for a tour of Charles Dickens’ Worcester. Each Thursday, National Park Service Rangers offer a free program - a chance for you to explore part of the history or natural beauty of the valley. All Walkabout programs are free, and begin at 6:30 pm.

Amazing that the auditions are on a school night. Couldn't they have had them during the summer?

It's Thursday and trash day around here,the bottle and can pickers are going by.Since there's no jobs for these people and they're out very early,who says they don't want to work?Want to make donations Woonsocket?Give your bottles and cans to them vs. the corporation in Johnston.
