The Super Bowl isn't the only big game this weekend, and dog lovers in Rhode Island have a big reason to cheer on Super Sunday. Before the big dogs kick off at 6:30 p.m., the little pups get their moment in the sun in Puppy Bowl IX on Animal Planet at 3 p.m. Sunday, reports BostInno.com, a Boston-based news publication.
Three young pups from Furever Dachshund Rescue next door in North Smithfield will be battling it out on the gridiron Sunday at 3 p.m. — Sally, a 12-week-old Dachshund/Basset Hound mix; Copper, a nine-week-old Dachshund/English Pit Bull mix; and Harry, a 12-week-old Chocolate Dachshund.
Animal Planet released the full 2013 lineup for the Puppy Bowl this week. It includes 34 dogs on the roster, each living in a shelter from across the country.
