Mount St. Charles Academy Plans For Big Turnout At “Friday Night Lights” Tonight

More than 1,000 spectators expected to show for annual event.

Mount St. Charles Academy will host its Sixth Annual “Friday Night Lights” on Friday, Oct. 5.

Since Mount does not have lighting on the field, evening athletic games cannot normally be played on the Mount campus. However, once a year, high-powered flood lights are brought onto MSC’s lower field allowing the girls and boys soccer teams to play at home under the lights.

The festivities will begin with a MSC school pep rally Friday afternoon sponsored by the Student Activity Council, and then the games begin!

 The schedule is as follows:

Junior Varsity:  MSC Girls vs. Westerly High School, 4p.m.

Varsity: MSC Girls vs. Westerly High School, 5:30p.m.

MSC Boys vs. Classical High School, 7:30p.m.

Members of Mount’s Student Activity Council and Service Opportunity Depot will be providing assistance during the event. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, dessert, and beverages available throughout the night. This event is also a type of homecoming for Mount Saint Charles alumni. Many return home for the holiday weekend and attend “Friday Night Lights,” as well as participate in the co-ed alumni soccer game and cookout Sunday at 1p.m.

Admission is free for Mount students; $3 for adults; and $2 for senior citizens and all other students. With close to 1,000 people expected to attend, Mount Saint Charles Academy’s “Friday Night Lights” promises to be a fun night for the whole family!
