N. Smithfield Remembers 9-11 Attacks With Dignified Ceremony

Remembering the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America by the North Smithfield Fire & Rescue Services.

The North Smithfield Fire & Rescue Services conducted a brief, solemn, dignified ceremony at Station #2 at 675 St. Paul Street.  No speeches.  No fanfare.  Members of the department came out of the firehouse, on command of the Chief, they came to attention, two members lowered the flags to half staff as all saluted. Another fire fighter rang "The Last Alarm." Another fire fighter played "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes, the music hauntingly beautiful.  Then the fire fighters were dismissed.

Thank you for not forgetting the events of that day that has changed America forever.
