Returning to Providence College….With a Prospective Member of the Class of 2016
Returning to my alma mater, Providence College with a prospective freshman...my daughter.
Except for a brief visit a few years ago to take the GMAT exam as part of the graduate school admissions process, it had been years, many years since I had returned to the campus of my alma mater, Providence College. It was a flawlessly beautiful Saturday recently when I visited with my wife and children, Luc, age 14 and Corinne, age 18. Yes, you guessed it. Corinne has been accepted to PC and wanted to walked around and get a feel for the place that I spent 4 years as an undergraduate.

Now as then, the campus is pristine, the building well kept, landscaping perfect. There have been several major changes to the layout of the campus, with a stunning athletic center and a chapel and other dormitories and classrooms. Progress...or a successful annual fundraising effort or both.

Although my daughter is still contemplating where to embark on this next great adventure of her young life….she has 12 other colleges and universities to consider, both of my children enjoyed visiting where Dad went to college. They were impressed with the character of the Dominican-run Catholic college and its proximity to downtown Providence and other colleges and universities.
Who knows, my daughter may some day join me in singing the verses of PC’s Alma Mater….. “Mother of truth, we proudly pledge to thee, undying love and steadfast loyalty…” Don’t forget the tuition payments either. Good luck Corinne.
