Wednesday: Commission, Committee, Venture And "Nobody Meaner"

Welcome to Wednesday - here are today's things to know:

It's the midway point of another exciting week in Woonsocket - check out these things to know today:

Commission/Committee - Today the legal counsel for the state's Department of Revenue is expected to deliver her opinion on whether the Budget Commission has the authority to block the reorganization of the School Committee listed on their agenda for tonight's meeting (see attached .pdf). The Budget Commission will meet at 4:30 p.m., a few hours before the School Committee Meeting at 7 p.m.

Venture - All Saints Parish's Venturing Crew meeting will be held tonight at the church, 6:30 p.m. Venturing, a little known part of The Boys Scouts of America, is made up of boys and girls between the ages of 14-21. It is a non denominational leadership program where youths learn to be leaders while enjoying the company of their peers under the supervision of registered adults of BSA.

Chime in - We're interested in what you have to say. Maybe the readers of the Woonsocket Patch are, too — they were certainly interested in Bryan Palumbo's blog, Ask a Conservative. Sign up and start your own:

Weather - Today will be partly cloudy and 76 degrees. Not a bad day for a walk.

Go, Granny Go! - On this day in 1967, Jan and Dean released "The Little Old Lady From Pasadena" according to brainyhistory.com. There's nobody meaner.
