Warren at DNC: The System is Rigged Against the Middle Class

Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night. What did you think of her speech?

The system is rigged against middle class families, and unchecked corporate greed will take us all down, according to Massachusetts U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren who spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.

"Each generation built something solid so that the next generation could build something better," she said. "But not for many years. Talk to the construction worker from Malden who went nine months without a job... Talk to the student in Worcester who worked hard to finish his degree and now he's drowning in debt...The system is rigged against them."

Warren, who took the stage just prior to former president Bill Clinton, said Romney's plan to lower the richest American's taxes would send the economy spiraling backwards. She called several times for Americans to band together to work for the next generation's benefit.

Did you watch Warren's speech? Do you think she did enough to address the concerns Americans have about jobs and the economy today? Do you believe the playing field in America is rigged?  Either way, we'd like to hear from Woonsocket residents. Share your thoughts in the comments.

Didn't she say she's got Indian blood?
Freedomfrom21 September 08, 2012 at 06:12 PM
I did watch most of her speech, but I had to stop before I puked. If I had to describe her speech in three words they would be.......Lies, Lies, Lies.
Steve September 08, 2012 at 06:39 PM
I think she's getting ready to occupy something!
John Ward September 09, 2012 at 12:06 AM
Ugh, put your glasses on.
John Ward September 09, 2012 at 12:08 AM
She's scary. A passive agressive screecher. I have experience with one locally. No good.
Mr. Sluggo September 09, 2012 at 12:27 AM
She's right about Wall Street. All the money that's been thrown into the system to prop up corrupt megabanks who've had their losses socialized is costing everyone dearly. It's a hidden tax,it's called inflation. The Federal Reserve's already thrown 1.6 trillion at the problem and they're about to do more.Although it's not the entire reason, you can thank Wall Street for a lot of that pain at the pump.

You know, Sluggo, I actually think it would be fun to have coffee with you, whether I agreed or disagreed with you. You act the clown on here, but you're very intelligent. I wish you posted seriously more often. Ha, but then, maybe you do, under a name I don't catch! ^_^

Growing more concerned by the day! September 09, 2012 at 10:35 AM
I'm all for freedom of speach. However I think it's time for the Patch to implement some kind of ratings system (Like/Dislike) so the majority of readers can send a message to the cyber hacks, cyber bullies, cyber A-holes or whatever you want to call them that their discourse is not welcome. Intelligent comments are being surpressed by these inconsiderate opiomators who offer no intelleigent commentary..... They know who they are, they don't need to be named.
Russell Archambault September 09, 2012 at 12:38 PM
are you so worried what patch offers that you need to try to surpress peoples thoughts or views/ isn't there something more important in you life to try to fix ? even with the stupid, or bisare post that somtimes are said, do realy want to hurt a person like" john ward jr." he does have feelings you know, you dont know what that poor guy has gone through in his life. he is so pathetic that hes trying to pick up woman on patch. all that shows me is that he is totally socially enept. what about ",la moufette," he seems pretty intelegent along with "steve" they make common sense and of course that brings us to "common sence" another common sence type whith "still hope" two contributors to patch, who in my opinion gets my thumb up right up to my own fanny sometimes along with all the other useless postings on this site.lately we got another player" mr. sluggo" clearly from the getto with all his correct useless information to make his point. and last but almost no least the old bag" memere".she's 102 years old for crying out loud.still has her maytag washing machine. i wish someone would just get rid of her, take her to the old folks home and just visit her on christmas day and shut her up. if i missed anyone i give you thumbs down with both of them. actually the only opinion that i value so far is that brilliant guy who thinks he knows everything "russell archambault" I give him two thumbs up and also two extra middle fingers, so he can pick his own views up his nose. thanks
Mr. Sluggo September 09, 2012 at 02:01 PM

You tell me yours and I'll tell you mine : )
Steve September 09, 2012 at 08:31 PM
Hey GMCBTD, I love this post, typical liberal post by the way! "I'm all for freedom of speech, but if you don't post what I agree with, it should be banned"! Get over your I'm greater than thou attitude! If you don't like the posts you're reading on the Patch, go to MSNBC and get your liberal supporting posts there..... I'm sure between Rachel, Larry and ED, not to mention the good Rev. Al Sharpton, you can find peace there....
Steve September 09, 2012 at 08:50 PM
And GMCBTD, can you please define the term opiomator? I'm having a difficult time finding a definition on this term. I'll have to defer to English First on this one..........

There are some very interesting articles on this website which could spark some very enthusiastic debate and opinons. Apparently none of you have anything to really contribute to this website because all you do is attack each other. It really makes it difficult for any intelligent person who may want to express an intelligent opinion to join in. This is typical of the American public. No substance but an abundance of ignorance.
