Legion - Attention, American Legion Post 85 members -  The monthly meeting scheduled for Sunday was postponed to Oct. 28, 10 a.m.

WHS music sponsors - Woonsocket High School Music Department is looking for placemat sponsors for upcoming food fundraisers. The department is asking 25 dollars for a business card size ad on our Novan Music placemats. Parents are encouraged to to ask their children for an informational sheet. 

Farmer's market - The Woonsocket Farmers Market is open every Tuesday from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Thundermist Health Center. Swing by and check out the fresh food and items for sale. For more details about the market visit: Woonsocket Farmers Market. This will be the second to last farmer's market of the season.

Red Ribbon - National Red Ribbon Week starts today. Check out this video to see  how easy it is for families and schools from your area to win a $1,000 drug prevention grant for their local school, and an iPad for their family. Studies show that substance abuse risks lessen when children talk to their parents about the dangers of drugs, and this is the goal of 2012's contest: to encourage families to talk about prevention at home and in their neighborhoods.
