Monday: Comics, Cars, Council and Calendar

Council - The Woonsocket City Council meets tonight, 6:30 p.m., in the second floor conference room at City Hall to discuss two potential liquor license violations, followed by a discussion of possible changes to the city's ordinance on payment of municipal charges with City Council President John Ward.

Comics - The Providence Comics Consortium will be at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library today at 3:30 p.m. Want to learn tips on how to draw comics and create characters? Classic cars - Show up at Patriot's Diner, 65 Founders Dr., tonight at 5 p.m. for Classic Car Cruise Night. Take a trip down Memory Lane at a nostalgic '50s diner with vintage cars.

Register to vote - Oct. 7 is the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election, and Oct. 16 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. The deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 11 primary has passed, but if you were already registered, you're OK. If you're an unaffiliated voter, you can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary - just ask the poll worker to to dis-affiliate you on the way out after to return to independent status. This election season voters will also be required to show a voter ID.
