Monday: Comics, Cars, Council and Calendar

Acquiesce to all the alliteration, and check out today's things to know:

Council - The Woonsocket City Council meets tonight, 6:30 p.m., in the second floor conference room at City Hall to discuss two potential liquor license violations, followed by a discussion of possible changes to the city's ordinance on payment of municipal charges with City Council President John Ward.

Comics - The Providence Comics Consortium will be at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library today at 3:30 p.m. Want to learn tips on how to draw comics and create characters? Sign up for this one day after-school comic creation class, great for ages 8-12. Register now by calling 401-769-9044 ext 2 or e-mail cgoldstein@woonsocketlibrary.org.

Classic cars - Show up at Patriot's Diner, 65 Founders Dr., tonight at 5 p.m. for Classic Car Cruise Night. Take a trip down Memory Lane at a nostalgic '50s diner with vintage cars.

Calendar - If you've got an event you want to share with the many readers of the Woonsocket Patch, you can be your own best advocate - post it yourself to the Woonsocket Patch calendar. Fill in the blanks with your event's information, and you're good to go.

Register to vote - Oct. 7 is the deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 6 election, and Oct. 16 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. The deadline to register to vote in the Sept. 11 primary has passed, but if you were already registered, you're OK. If you're an unaffiliated voter, you can vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary - just ask the poll worker to to dis-affiliate you on the way out after to return to independent status. This election season voters will also be required to show a voter ID.

If someone could check on the news just in by rob. i think he got two stories mixed up. I think the council is meeting at harris public library today at 3;30 not tonight at harris hall. I think he got it backwards!

also on payments, are we going to pay john ward directly, are those the changes in the ordinance they want?
Rob Borkowski (Editor) September 10, 2012 at 06:16 PM
Russell - If you're correct, then they have it wrong on the agenda (see the attached .pdf). I'll double check.

Rob, Again Russell is not correct!
Rob Borkowski (Editor) September 10, 2012 at 06:26 PM
Russell, the time and place posted in the story, as well as the agenda attached for the meeting, is correct.
