Local Scout Studies Citizenship At Council Meeting

Local Star Scout attended a recent City Council meeting to work on merit badge.

The City Council's meetings on pitbulls and pawnshops drew quite a few people with a personal stake in the issues, but Woonsocket Star Scout Cameron Duguay, 13 was just being a good citizen Dec. 3.

Duguay and his dad attended the meeting along with Woonsocket Troop 2 OLQM Assistant Scoutmaster Mark Cotnoir, staying through the whole evening as people showed up for their issues on the council's agenda, concluded their business and left.

Duguay needed a government meeting under his belt as a requirement for the Citizenship in the Community merit badge, a requirement for Eagle Scout. As a Star Scout, Duguay is two ranks away from becoming an Eagle Scout.
