First Sandy, Now... Snowy?

The National Weather Service is forecasting the chance of snow this afternoon into tomorrow, with no major accumulations.

Rhode Island could get an early coating of snow this afternoon into evening, according to the National Weather Service.

A hazardous weather advisory and a high-wind warning went into effect just before 4 am on Wednesday, forecasting a 80-percent chance of rain through early afternoon with the possibility of a change to snow until about 8 pm.

Total snowfall should be less than an inch and a half total, the NWS reported.

After 8 pm, the chance of rain is expected to linger until Thursday night.

The wind advisory, in effect through Thursday morning, notes that wind speeds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of 50 mph possible.
