Police Log: Man Turns Self In For Selling Jewelry Stolen From Woonsocket Apartment

Man admits to taking goods stolen from home June 14.

On Wednesday, June 27 at 12:51 p.m., Garibaldi Santiago, 22, of 390 Mineral Spring Road, Apt. 2nd, Pawtucket, walked into Woonsocket Police Headquarters on Clinton St. to turn himself in for receiving stolen goods, jewelry, totalling about $2,772.

Santiago said he was turning himself in because he believed there was a warrant out for his arrest. Police report that though Santiago was a suspect in a recent robbery, there was not a warrant for his arrest.

Santiago said that he had recently met a man on Elm Street after he was done with work at a barber shop on that street. He said the man sold him a bag of jewelry for $350, which he then sold in Providence.

Contained within the bag were the following items:

A white gold ring, $599

A tennis bracelet, $899

A tri-gold bracelet, $200

A pair of earrings with "Asia" on them, $300

A diamond bracelet, $600

A silver ring with a peridot stone, $175

The items were identified as those stolen from the Woonsocket apartment of Robin Marquis, 34, on June 14.

Santiago was charged with receiving stolen goods, a felony.
