Woonsocket Man Charged with Murder in Mother's Death
Emmanuel Algaria was charged with beating Catherine Salvi to death.
A Woonsocket man has been charged with murder in the death of 24-year-old city resident Catherine Salvi.
Police said Emmanuel Algaria, 21, beat Salvi in December. Salvi, a mother, died less than a month later.
Algaria was originally charged with assault. Boston.com reported his charges were upgraded to murder.
