On Oct. 4 at 10:15 a.m., Woonsocket Police officers were dispatched to the Woonsocket School Department at the McFee Administration Building for a woman wanted for assaulting Pothier School Principal Celeste Conti.

Officers Patrick McGourty and Anthony Conetta arrived at the 108 High St. address after a call from the school department reporting Yvonne Telles, 27, of 110 Burnside Ave., Apt. 2nd, was in the waiting area. Telles had an active warrant for her arrest in the simple assault of Conti at Pothier School, 420 Robinson St., Oct. 1 at about 2:59 p.m.

That Oct. 1 morning, said Woonsocket Public Information Officer Det. Jamie Paone, several witnesses reported seeing Telles push Conti, who was directing traffic. Paone said the week before, Conti had told Telles not to bring her dog to the school, and Telles confronted the principal about it Oct. 1, pushing her during the altercation.

Telles was taken into custody and transported to Woonsocket Police headquarters at 242 Clinton St. without incident.
