WFD Called to South Main Street Fire Sunday Afternoon

Woonsocket Firefighters were called to 631 South Main Street Snday at 12:06 p.m. for a fire with heavy flame showing.

By 12:15 p.m., the 2.5-story, wood-framed home was fully engulfed by flames, as seen in this twitter photo posted by @Matt Gregoire. By 1:18 p.m., @Matt Gregoire posted another photo showing the fire extinquished.

According to a report from Turnto10.com, the fire quickly escalated to a three-alarm call. The Providence Journal reports two firefighters were injured while fighting the blaze. They were treated for minor injuries at Landmark Medical Center.
