Warwick Police Arrest Woonsocket Robbery Suspect

Kenny Jenkins held at ACI, charged with three robberies between June 11 and June 16.

 

Woonsocket Police got a gift from the Warwick Police Department yesterday when they arrested Kenny Jenkins, a suspect in three local robberies, on unrelated charges in Warwick.

The robberies occurred in Woonsocket between June 11 and June 16, involved the use of a stick in two incidents and a wrench in the third. Jenkins was able to steal $200 in the first incident, and did not get any money from the other two attempts.

The first robbery was on on June 11 at about 6:26 a.m. at the Shell Gas Station at 1030 Social St., when a man entered the store carrying a stick and demanded money from the cash register. The man stole about $200 in cash before fleeing.

On June 14 at 10:10 p.m. responded to Sam’s
Smoke Shop at 805 Park Ave., where a male suspect entered the store
carrying a stick and demanded money from the cash register. The man received no money.

Finally, on June 16, at about 11:56 a.m. Woonsocket Police responded to Hong
Kong Restaurant at 774 Social St. for a report of a man who entered the
restaurant with a wrench and demanded money from the cash register, but received no money. The suspect had fled the area prior to police arrival.

Based on witness accounts, Woonsocket Police obtained an arrest warrant for Kenny Jenkins for three first-degree robberies. Yesterday he was arrested in Warwick on unrelated charges and was transported to the Woonsocket Police Department.

Jenkins was arraigned in District Court and will be held without bail at the ACI.
