Vice Squad Catches Alleged Crack Dealer

Angel Peguero was ordered held without bail after Friday arraignment.

Woonsocket Police arrested an 18-year-old Providence man for allegedly selling drugs to members of the police vice squad during the course of a lengthy investigation.

Angel Peguero, 18, of 1030 Atwells Ave., was arrested Thursday and charged with four counts of crack possession with intent to deliver, intent to sell drugs near a school, possession of a controlled substance and other drug charges.

He was arraigned Friday in Sixth Division District Court and entered no plea to the charges, which is customary for felony arraignments. He was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions and is due to reappear in court for a bail hearing on Feb. 19.

The vice squad said Peguero sold crack to the vice squad on several occasions during controlled buys.
