State Trooper Log: Traffic Stops Yield Scofflaws

Scituate barracks: Vehicle stop reveals court date scofflaw

At 3:30 p.m. Aug. 17, Troopers arrested Joseph Brown, age 59, of 196 Park Place, Woonsocket, RI on a Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance originating out of Woonsocket Police Department. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Wood Avenue in the City of Woonsocket. Brown was transported to Headquarters where he was processed then turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.

At 6:45 AM Aug. 17, troopers arrested Brandon Callahan, age 27, of 351 Willow Street, Woonsocket on an active 4th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear and Pay on the original charge of Operating on a Suspended License originating from the Hope Valley Barracks. The arrest was a result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in the Town of West Greenwich. Callahan was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks, processed, and later turned over to 4th District Court, Wakefield.

Lincoln Woods barracks: Suspicious actions prompt background check, arrest

At 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18, Troopers arrested Miguel Alvarez age 21, LKA of 66 Jervis St Woonsocket, RI for 1.) Sixth District Court warrant for Failure to Appear for Payment Review on a charge of Driving on a Suspended License originating out of Lincoln Police Department, 2.) Obstruction. This arrest was the result of a warrant check for an unrelated subject and Troopers observing Alvarez acting suspiciously and their subsequent investigation. Alvarez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was fingerprinted and his true identity was learned. Alvarez was arraigned before a Justice of the Peace and then turned over to the ACI Intake Center.
