State Trooper Log: Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Failing to Appear

Traffic stop on Rte. 99 reveals warrant on needle charge
At 5:12 p.m. Dec. 6, troopers arrested Jerry Bernard, age 58, of 25 Arapahoe Road, Bellingham, MA, on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Cost Review on an original charge of Possession of Needle and Syringe originating out of Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 99 in the Town of Cumberland.  Bernard was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and arraigned by Justice of the Peace McCaffrey.

Troopers arrest Pawtucket man for failing to appear in court for suspended license
At 10:55 p.m. Dec. 4, Troopers arrested Carlos Mendes, age 25, of 9 Star Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island for a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for the Ability to Pay on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended License originating from the Pawtucket Police Department. Mendes was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men's Intake Center.
