State Trooper Log: Domestic Assault Warrant, Lincoln Murder Suspect Apprehended

Troopers arrest man on domestic assault warrant after vehicle stop

At 1:20 a.m. July 20, troopers arrested Emilson Joseph, age 28, of 182 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, RI., on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Domestic Simple Assault originating out of the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 10 at Union Avenue in the City of Providence. Subject was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and held overnight pending his morning arraignment before a Justice of the Peace.

On July 21, at 11:20 a.m., members of the Rhode Island State Police Major Crimes Unit, Violent Fugitive Task Force, Lincoln Woods Barracks, United States Marshals' Service, Lincoln Police Department, and Providence Police, assisted by members of the Massachusetts State Police, arrested Willie Wilkerson, age 27, of 1200 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln, Rhode Island as a Fugitive from Justice from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

On July 20, 2013, members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office obtained an affidavit and arrest warrant charging Wilkerson with murder. The multi-agency investigation to locate Wilkerson led to a surveillance of 1200 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. During the surveillance Wilkerson was observed leaving the residence and was arrested without incident.

Wilkerson was processed and arraigned at the Lincoln Woods Barracks as a Fugitive from Justice. Justice of the Peace Lincoln S. Leonard ordered Wilkerson held at the Adult Correctional Institution pending arraignment in Sixth Division District Court on Monday, July 22.
