State Trooper Log: Dodging Community Service, Heroin Sold To the Wrong Guys

The following arrest information was provided by the RI State Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Scituate barracks: Troopers arrest man for failing to appear for community service review on DUI charge

At 4:39 p.m. Jan. 28, Troopers arrested Cristano Medina, age 42, of 314 Wood Ave., for a 6th District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Community Service Review, on a charge of Driving Under the Influence (1st Offense – Blood Alcohol Content Unknown), originating out of the Woonsocket Police Department.

The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Kendrick Street, in the City of Woonsocket. Medina was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed, and released after posting surety bail with a justice of the peace.

  • On Feb. 4, members of HIDTA arrested Elsa Guzman, age 22, of 936 Narragansett Blvd, Providence, RI, for the following: 1) Two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance to a Police Officer; 2) Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance; and 3) Woonsocket Police Warrant for Delivery of Heroin to a Police Officer.

Guzman was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, arraigned before a Justice of the Peace and held without bail. Ms. Guzman was subsequently turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions.

  • On February 4, 2012, members of HIDTA presented ACI inmate Eddison Challa, age 26, of 178 Morin Heights Blvd, Woonsocket, RI, before the Sixth District Court, where he was charged with the following offenses: 1) Three counts of Delivery of Heroin to a Police Officer; and 2) Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance. Mr. Challa was held without bail.
