State Trooper Log: Arson Parolee Fails Drug Test, Arrests For Court Scofflaws

The following arrest information was provided by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Man on parole for 1983 arson arrested for failing drug test

On Feb. 11, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested James Grundy, 51, of 95 Rathbun St., Woonsocket as a parole violator after he failed a drug test.

Grundy was convicted on a 1983 charge of arson, death resulting, brought by the Providence Police in 1989. He was serving 15 years probation at the time of his arrest, according to RI State Police Maj. Michael Winquist. 

Grundy was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and turned over to officials at the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Woman arrested for failing to appear on suspended license charge

At 1:09 p.m. Feb. 13, Troopers arrested Amanda J. McGillivary, age 34, of 134 Rathbun St., Apt. 3, Woonsocket. for a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for the Ability to Pay on the original charge of Driving After Suspension of License out of the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

She was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed and transported to Sixth District Court.

Man arrested for failing to appear on obstructing an officer charge

At 5:13 p.m., Feb. 13, Troopers arrested Alexander Cartagena, age 26, of 149 Arnold Street, Woonsocket, RI, for a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for the Ability to Pay on the original charge of Obstructing an Officer In the Execution of Duty out of State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Cartagena was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released after posting bail.

Woman arrested for failing to appear on suspended license charge

At 5:13 p.m. Feb. 13, Troopers arrested Karissah B. Beauregard, age, 22, of 149 Arnold Street, Woonsocket, for a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Sentencing on the original charge of Driving After Suspension of License out of the Woonsocket Police Department.

Beauregard was transported to State Police Headquarters where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released after posting bail.
