Police Log: Man Questioned About Break-in Denies It, Admits To Previous Break-In

This arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Johnny Sanchez, 30, of 320 Bennett St., Apt. 10, may have provided a little too much detail in his denial of a recent break-in at the apartment of a co-worker while talking to  Aug. 29.

When police asked him in to discuss the Aug. 26 break-in and read him his rights, he said he and the woman in the apartment had recently dated. Prior to the most recent break-in, he said, he saw the woman and another man driving together, so he entered the apartment through a window while they were there. The woman's friend grabbed him by the throat and threw him out, Sanchez said, and he hadn't been back to the apartment since.

The woman whose apartment Sanchez broke into said the two were not dating, and that they were simply co-workers. She confirmed Sanchez had broken into the apartment the previous week after driving past in a car with its headlights turned off.

Police arrested Sanchez and charged him with the break-in to which he admitted.
