Police Log: Man Crashes Motorcycle, Leaves Injured Passenger at Scene

The following arrest information was supplied by the Woonsocket Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Ricky Ryan Herbert, 39, of 65 Aylesworth St. was arrested on Saturday at 8:14 p.m. after a 16-year-old witness told police that he watched Herbert get into an accident on his motorcycle and then drive away, leaving his passenger behind. When officers arrived, the witness pointed out the suspect and injured passenger Tammy Swiech. According to reports, Swiech was still wearing a helmet and appeared extremely intoxicated.

The witness told officers that he was walking down River Street when he saw a yellow scooter operated by Herbert crash. The female passenger fell off the bike during the accident and the witness said he watched Herbert attempt unsuccessfully to put her back on before driving off and leaving her behind. The 16-year-old called police and went to check if Swiech was injured.

Moments later, the witness said Herbert approached and pretended he was not involved. When the witness told the suspect that he'd seen the accident, Herbert tried to run away but the witness chased him. 

The unregistered scooter was found parked by Our Pad. Herbert was charged with driving under the influence .15 or greater (second offense) and failure in duty to stop.

Oh, Christmas tree-

Jamar David Lyles, 30, of 388 Pine St., Providence was arrested on Saturday after police received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised officers that Lyles was walking and the caller, his girlfriend, was following him in her car. When Lyles was located, officers confirmed that there was a warrant out for his arrest. The caller told police that she had a fight with Lyles and he broke her Christmas tree before leaving with his two children. The tree was found broken in three pieces with ornaments shattered about the victim's apartment. Lyles was arrested for domestic assault (third offense,) violation of a no contact order and domestic disorderly conduct (third offense.)

Rodney Paul Webster, Jr., of 485 Park Ave. was arrested at home on Friday at 2:12 a.m. for domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Sean Hawkins, 26, of 33 Lorin St. was arrested on Friday in the area of 1049 Cass Ave. at 3:10 p.m. for disorderly conduct and reckless driving.

Angela Denise Motley, 35, of 816 Bernon St. was arrested on Saturday in the area of 1450 Park Ave. at 1:48 a.m. for a bench warrant.

Susan Lee, 31, of 2229 Diamond Hill Rd. was arrested on Saturday at Walgreens at 4:52 a.m. for false report of a crime.
