Jacob Perry, 22, of 84 Kendrick Ave., apt. 2, fresh off his arrest for stealing Devin Fontaine's laptop, visited her at Brews and Cues to punch her in the face Oct. 2 at 8:41 p.m., earning himself a second visit to the Woonsocket Police Department.
Woonsocket Police officer Daniel Lajoie responded to the bar at 42 Rathbun Street for a report of an assault, meeting up with Fontaine, who told him she had seen Perry outside the bar earlier that evening, according to his report.
Fontaine said Perry, who was there with a friend she had never seen before, beckoned to her through the window to step outside. When she did, she said, Perry punched her in the face. She said the blow knocked her off her feet and to the ground, where she struck her elbow on the concrete.
After, both men left, Perry on a bicycle, Fontaine said. She said she had filed a complaint against Perry, accusing him of stealing her laptop, for which he had been arrested the previous evening. She said she was sure Perry attacked her because of her report.
According to a witness statement by Fontaine, the Perry's punch left her with a swolen eye and redness to her left elbow, Fontaine said.
Police found Perry on East School Street and arrested him, charging him with simple assault.
