Police Check on Argument, Arrest Woman for Heroin Possession

An argument between a woman and her wife attracted the attention of Woonsocket Police, who arrested one for Heroin possession during a check of her South Main Street home.

Officer Joseph Brazil reported he was dispatched to 168 South Main St., Apt. 1A, Dec. 16 at 11:50 p.m. to check on an argument reported by several callers. Once entering the building, Brazil spoke with Beth Hassett, who exited the apartment to tell him the argument had happened in her home, according to his report.

Hassett allowed Brazil into the apartment, according to his report, upon which he saw a pair of small glassine baggies in plain sight, containing a brown powdery substance he recognized as heroin.

Hassett said her argument with her estranged wife had not been physical, and her wife had left before police arrived. She told the officer her wife left the bags, eventually admitting that the heroin was hers.

Brazil arrested her, charging her with possession of heroin.
