National Night Out Coming Aug. 7 At River Island Park

Anti-crime rally will offer climbing wall, children's events, face painting.

 

National Night Out, an anti-crime rally and family event, will be held at on Aug. 7, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

The event will feature a rock climbing wall, free food and drinks, and a raffle for a girls and a boys bike.  There will also be a free bike helmet giveaway. The evening will also offer children's events, face painting, balloon characters, a giant bouncy ride, and music by a DJ.  This year there will also be emergency equipment from the and as well as other surrounding agencies.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Vendors will also be in attendance to distribute literature on crime prevention programs and services to residents in the community.
