Police said a man died after being assaulted at Charley's Place last week.
WPRI.com identified the man as Robert Gordon.
Police said Alan Klemanchuck, 58, attacked Gordon at the First Avenue bar Friday night.
Gordon was treated at Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Sunday, police said.
Klemanchuck was charged with felony-level domestic assault.
Danielle Noel, one of Gordon's relatives, told WPRI he was a "real good person."
"He cared about his family," Noel said. "It’s very hard just seeing his truck sitting outside and knowing that he’s not here and he’s never going to be."
