Man Arrested on Warrant at Home Near Coleman School

A Coleman School secretary called Woonsocket Police Sept. 13 reporting a group of men smoking and drinking across the street at 89 Second Ave., leading to the arrest of one on an WPD warrant for assault.

Police received the call at 1:45 p.m. about the group, who, according to the caller, were routinely smoking and drinking in the front yard, Officer Mark Castiglione reported. Two of the men had crossed the street onto school property, the caller said.

While Castiglione was speaking with the secretary about the group, two men exited the residence, and started smoking on the sidewalk, each with a beer in hand. Castiglione left the school and crossed the street to speak with the men.

One of the men, Randy White, 23, 107 Bourdon Boulevard, had a warrant for his arrest from the Woonsocket Police Department for simple assault and battery. Castiglione arrested him and took him to Woonsocket Police Headquarters.
