Man Indicted on Charges for Raping Ex-Girlfriend Multiple Times

Reinaldo Diaz, 34, will answer several charges including multiple counts of sexual assault, felony assault, simple assault and one violation of a no contact order.

A Woonsocket Man held at the ACI since Nov. 20 on charges that he repeatedly raped his girlfriend in the presence of her four-year-old son was indicted by The Providence County Grand Jury Thursday.

The indictment charges Reinaldo Diaz, 34, of 100 Harrison Ave., with eight counts of first degree domestic sexual assault, two counts of domestic felony assault, four counts of domestic simple assault and one count of violating a no contact order.

According to a report from Turnto10.com, the assault occurred in the presence of the woman's son, 4, and was discovered by her young daughter, who called 911. When police arrived, the distraught woman ran from them, crouching on the porch of the home and telling officers she was afraid Diaz would kill her.

The indictment alleges that on or about dates between Oct. 1 - 31, 2013 and between Nov. 14 – 15, 2013, Diaz sexually and physically assaulted the woman multiple times. Diaz also allegedly violated a no contact order issued by the Court on Nov. 14, 2012.

Diaz is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on Jan. 22.
